I’ve been on-air for the better part of 40 years, mostly in mornings. I’ve worked at stations in my native New Jersey (insert “Sopranos” joke here)……as well as Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New York and too many other places to mention.

I arrived in Mid-Missouri in 2002 with my wife Donna and three kids in tow and decided that this is a pretty nice place to call home. I’m a rabid Philadelphia Eagles fan (yeah, I BLEED green) and also love my Phillies. I admit I’m a ”geek” and get into anything computer or technology-related. And yes, I’ve even been to a couple of Star Trek conventions. Is it any wonder I didn’t date till I got to college?

If you dare, check out my scary HAIR picture from 1981…and YES, it’s real!

Some favorites of mine:

Movies
The Blues Brothers, Forrest Gump, Planes, Trains and AutomobilesThat Thing You Do!, The Ten Commandments, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Independence Day, The Sound Of Music, too many others…

TV shows
Mad MenThe Big Bang Theory, Yellowstone, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and more I’m sure I’ve forgotten. I really like documentaries too, especially all the Ken Burns stuff.

Music
Favorite artists include Billy Joel, Bruno Mars and too many others. Plus, I’m a Beatles NUT and a Classic Rock fan (Aerosmith, Stones, Foreigner). My musical tastes are pretty varied, though. In my collection you’ll find everything from Frankie Valli to The Sound Of Music. Disco? 70’s? Oldies? Yup, I like it all.

Food
If I could only have one meal for the rest of my life, I would probably pick spaghetti. I also love crabs, shrimp (especially grilled- mmmmm) and other seafood. Plus you can never go wrong with a big ‘ol steak (medium well, thank you). Can’t live without coffee, of course! My two favorite candies are Twizzlers and Starburst. I can also go through a box of Russell Stover caramels pretty quickly. Doritos (Cool Ranch) and brownies are great too. My favorite cookies are Oatmeal Raisin.

Random stuff
I’m Armenian on my mom’s side and Irish on my dad’s. I know- strange combination. People ask me, “Did your parents meet right off the boat or what?”

love politics and if you have a couple hours, will be glad to tell you what I think.

My dream trip would be a couple weeks across Ireland and England.

I think you’ll like my Youtube channel. Got some interesting (some might say “strange”) stuff there.

Do I love what I do? As far as I’m concerned, there’s NO better way in the world to make a living!

  1. Wanted to let you know I really enjoy your show – you just seem so normal, natural, and easy to like and listen to. This is the first time I’ve looked at the site so it was fun to learn more about you! Keep up the good work.

  2. Much appreciated, Becky! Thanks for checking in and sure hope you’ll continue to listen!

  3. I met you at Houghton College, in the 70’s??????? Yikes that makes me older than dirt.

  4. Hey Rick! Great to reconnect with you!

  5. I listen to your show every morning and I love it!! And oh by the way GO EAGLES!!!! My husband lives and breathes Dallas Cowboys so it makes for an interesting household!!

  6. Living with a Cowboys fan? Oooh, so SORRY! LOL. Thanks so much for listening, Mary! And yes, Fly Eagles Fly!!

  7. I’m not sure where you’re getting your weather updates today. But twice now you said the current temperature was warmer than the expected high. According to national weather we reached our high temp at 6am this morning. And temperature has been falling since. Currently National Weather is showing the average temp around the lake right now is 64 degrees. Now you just reported again a high of 79 with a current temp of 66. Someone in your studio needs to work on the info they are putting out.

  8. Paul, I just gave a listen to that break and I definitely said High of 70 today. Thanks!

  9. I can’t remember the name of the product at the Super supplement store in J.C.. Could you remind me please. Love your station. I live in Lebanon. Thanks

  10. It’s called Royal 21, Norma. Be sure to tell them you heard about it on 101.9 The Wave – and thanks for listening!

  11. I was trying to find the dog named jax.

  12. thank God we have you and your radio station. live in the outer reaches of buffalo,mo. and after wrapping wire around my radio , i hear you loud and clear.

  13. So glad to hear that, Gwen! Thanks for listening!

  14. Hi why is it everytime you say something you laugh like everything you say is historical ? I mean yeah sometimes your funny but a lot of times your corny.

  15. Guilty as charged, Dan! Thanks for listening 🙂

  16. I just wanted to let you know that there are many people, my son included that got his start in his career due to connections on Instagram. I think you should be more sensitive to what may be important to other people before saying something is the lowest of the low on social media.

  17. Thanks for the heads up on that, Kim. I’ll be sure to be more sensitive in my comments from now on…and thanks for listening!

  18. Just wanted to drop a note to you to let you know I miss your morning show! The show just isn’t the same in the mornings. I always woke up to the music, you’re comments, and it was all balanced. I also miss the trivia questions. The mornings are just not the same anymore. The ones who took over are really dry and not enough music!

  19. I miss hearing your voice on my morning ride to work!

  20. Very kind of you, Leslie. Hope you’re able to catch me during 10-2 each day. ~ Kevin

  21. Thank you for checking in, Laura. Well, I am here each day between 10-2 so maybe you’ll be able to tune in then as well? I truly appreciate your kind words! ~ Kevin

  22. Kevin

Why have you moved from the early morning show and what happened to wake up trivia?
    Thanks Michelle

  23. Hi Michelle- I am now on The Wave from 10 am to 2 pm each day because my mornings are spent on our sister station 94.3 KAT Country once again as part of Hilley & Hart. I enjoyed Wake-Up Trivia as well! Thanks for listening, Michelle.

  24. We miss you in the morning! The people who took over until 10 are boring and monotone and don’t play enough music! They would be great on an “after dark” show, not an early morning “wake-up” show!

  25. Hi Virginia! Well, first THANK YOU for listening. Your opinion is definitely important to us and will definitely be passed on to our Programming Dept. Have a great day! ~ Kevin
